“Jew Fish” by Stephen Bond

Stephen is an Indigenous artist who belongs to the Gubbi Gubbi people. He is a self-taught artist, whose work has been sold both in Australia and overseas. He is also a didgeridoo maker, painter and player, and has a strong commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.

"Jew Fish" was a piece donated for auction to benefit a non-Indigenous group. In this way, Stephen made his own ‘small step of reconciliation’, as he put it, after the impact of the Prime Minister’s apology to the stolen generations.
